Drs. Randy Kansky and Beverly Hochstadt-Kansky are natives of nearby Long Island. Dr. Randy Kansky did his undergraduate studies at The State University of New York at Albany, where he received a Bachelor of Arts degree in Psychology. Dr. Beverly Kansky attended Emory University in Atlanta, Georgia, and earned a Bachelor of Science degree in Biology.
The doctors met in 1980 while studying optometry at The New England College of Optometry in Boston, MA. "The New England College of Optometry provided excellent clinical training in such areas as contact lens care, pediatric vision care and vision therapy for computer related eye strain."
After graduating as Doctors of Optometry in 1984 they returned to Long Island, both to get married, and to start their careers working in private practices in Huntington, NY and Middle Village, NY respectively.
In 1986 Drs. Randy and Beverly came to Hoboken and revived Family Eye Care, a small optometry practice that had recently closed. By offering personal care and friendly, professional service, that modest practice rapidly grew. The office was renamed Eyeshapes Hoboken in 1991, and then in 2015 moved to its present location at 259 1st Street. By continuing to offer superior care, state of the art equipment, a large optical boutique, and a friendly, knowledgeable staff, Eyeshapes Hoboken has become Hoboken’s premier optometric office.
